We are happy to announce that NUIG has secured around €250k of funding and investment to realize the exploitation plan for GAMBAS by working closely with Enterprise Ireland (EI) in building Innovation Partnerships with Irish Industries to access research outcome from GAMBAS and OpenIoT projects towards developing new and improved products, processes or services, or generate new knowledge and know-how.

Via Innovation Partnership Program, NUIG has been reaching out to various industries to exploit GAMBAS’s technology with great support from EI’s “Collaborate-with-Industry” funding scheme. As a result, NUIG was awarded three small grants to carry out the three trials with there industrial partners in different domains. These trials act as feasibility studies for bigger investments in building innovative products for the industrial partners.

In parallel, NUIG is working towards commercializing GAMBAS’s technologies and middleware via EI’s commercialization funding scheme. NUIG’s application for a Commercial Case Feasibility Grant has accepted for a grant that enables NUIG to investigate, scope and develop a commercial case for exploiting technologies of GAMBAS and OpenIoT. Via this grant, NUIG will further investigate potential routes to exploitation to the economic benefit of Ireland in the context of such technologies.
